Late 1800s Red Star Appliqué Quilt
This late 1800s appliqué quilt has some of the most intricate and detailed quilting I have ever come across.
Had it fit my bed you can be sure I would have kept this one because it is truly incredible. Alas, it is meant for a much larger bed— A rare find in the quilt world!
One of my favorite details in that one star has slightly different red calico fabric than the rest. Did the quilter start with this fabric or end with it? Who knows. It adds a little bit of extra charm though and it’s fun to think about.
In very beautiful and usable condition and makes just about the most stunning statement possible in a room.
A collectors dream to be sure.

Machine pieced and beautifully and intricately hand quilted and appliquéd. The hand stitches on this one are absolutely mind blowing!
A nice medium weight quilt for the transition in seasons.
Measurements laid flat:
98” x 97”
Shown on a standard Full size bed.
C O N D I T I O N
In very gorgeous collectors condition. Has a few spots of discoloration near some edges as shown in photos and has a little wear at some of the edging as well. No tears or other major flaws to note. In truly remarkable condition.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact me via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
