Folkling was created by Leney in the beginning of 2017.
It was originally a venture in tandem with her photography business: A Girl Named Leney

Leney spent a number of years traveling extensively and living life on The Road.
Along the way she would save old things, tell their stories and sell them through the Folkling Instagram in between photo jobs. All the while carrying out an ethos of slow living.

In 2019 Leney met Owen.
Turns out— he also liked unique old things and slow living.

Together, at the end of 2020, they opened a brick and mortar for Folkling in a little town in Virginia called Gordonsville.

In 2024 they closed that brick & mortar and moved Folkling to an old 1870s house down the street that they bought to fulfill a long held dream of Folkling becoming more of an experience, and not just a shop.

And that’s currently where the Folkling story continues to be written.
