20th Century Folk Art Patchwork Quilt

$410.00
sold out

This quilt is admittedly somewhat of a mystery to us. It came to us by way of Georgia and has some textiles in it that resemble some we have seen from India although has some color-work and piecework that emulates some African American quilts we have seen.
Most if not all fabrics appeared to be hand dyed and it is completely hand stitched.
Regardless of its mysterious origins, this quilt is truly a one of a kind work of art that would compliment the end of a bed, the back of a leather couch or hung on a wall as the centerpiece in a room.

How it’s made: hand appliquéd, hand quilted and hand pieced

Weight: medium

Measurements laid flat: 41” x 63”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

A wonderful collection of original mends. A handful of holes and tears but none that go all the way through. Slightly irregular in shape causing uneven edges. Some area of dye run due to dye techniques originally used and due to previous owners washing this piece.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
