1940s Checkerboard Quilt

$415.00
sold out

Found in Idaho, this simple yet striking patchwork quilt is one of our favorites from this collection. With black and peach fabric making up the body of the quilt and a neutral feed sack backing, despite some of the wear at the edges, this quilt is certainly very usable and makes a great statement on a bed but would also look amazing hung in a hallway.

How it’s made: machine pieced and hand quilted

Weight: light to medium

Measurements laid flat: 62” x 82”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

Wear to some of the edge binding so that batting is exposed. No holes or tears that go all the way through. Fading to a majority of the front of the quilt with wear to black blocks on two of the edges where batting is exposed. Some seam separation as well.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
