Friendship, and signiture quilts have quite the history. Made for many reasons, often to commemorate an important event in someones life, or by a church group for a raffle to raise money, where each person who donated would get their name embroidered onto a quilt. These are just a few examples, but this particular quilt is from The Daughters of America, Spread Eagle, Council No. 207 in Klingerstown, PA June 5th, 1933, To Tiffin Orphanage, Tiffin, Ohio.
The pinwheel format of this particular signature quilt is especially unique and lends itself to being a very special collectors piece.

A few small discoloration spots on the front, plus general discoloration throughout.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
