1910s Turkey Red Drunkards Path Quilt
This quilt is in the ever covetable turkey red and white color way that was popular among quilters from around the 1890s-1920s. We have come across a few drunkards path quilts in red and white specifically and this is probably our favorite of them all — We almost kept it for our collection.
It has quite a bit of wear but it would be beautiful hung on a wall as art or displayed on a bed and then turned down each night as it is best not used for daily wear.
Our favorite detail?
The mismatched cream colored block that echos the Amish quilting tradition sentiment in which they would often have a piece in a pattern slightly “off” because as they believed “only God was perfect”.

How it’s made: hand quilted
Weight: light
Measurements laid flat: 65” x 80”
Shown on a standard Full size bed.

A small spot of candle wax, wear and discoloration and small stains throughout as well as a few small spots where it has worn through. Has one cream colored patchwork block that is rather charming. The sweetest hand stitches.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
