1910s Cross Patch Quilt
A beautiful blue calico makes up the blocks of this quilt, coupled with gorgeous floral hand quilting in between blocks. Despite the imperfections in this one, it’s certainly a keeper.
D E T A I L S
How it’s made: hand quilted and machine pieced
Weight: light summer weight
Measurements laid flat: 76” x 81”
Shown on a standard Full size bed.
C O N D I T I O N
Newer edge binding. Very slight puckering due to the binding being machine sewn on and as a result, the quilt does not lay perfectly flat. Fading to blue calico piecing throughout with some areas of exposed batting on the front. One larger area of wear close to the middle of one edge of the quilt with two or three small holes that go all the way through. Two to three spots of slight discoloration on the front and very faint, almost imperceptible, discoloration throughout on the back.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
