1905 Steeplechase Signed & Dated Quilt
Striking is an understatement with this one. A quilt we think should be hung on a wall where it can be the statement it was so clearly made to be. Incredible signed and dated on one edge with sewn signatures reading:
”Rhoda Dyke Aged 76 Alice Dyke Aged 55 1905"
Previous owners note: The identities of Rhoda and Alice Dyke have not yet been determined. One possible candidate is Rhoda M. Wilson Dyke (1826-1916), who lived in Allegany Co., New York for most of her life. She had a daughter-in-law named Alice Elizabeth Crawford Dyke (b. 1853), but Alice died in 1893.
If only this one could talk.

Brown discolorations throughout and wear to binding.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
