1890s Goose In The Pond Quilt
One from our personal collection…
This quilt is incredible with its expert piecework and gorgeous quilting. The calicos used in it are especially divine— one has tiny little stars.
A true collectors piece, with lots of life left to live.
One that is certainly hard to let go of, but we can’t keep them all!

How it’s made: hand quilted, hand and machine pieced
Weight: light medium

Fabric loss to the pin dots on one of the calicos used in the center part of the blocks, a result based on the dye used.
Faint discoloration scattered throughout mostly due to age, with additional toning to half of back.
Overall a gorgeous and magnificent quilt that is serviceable for a bed or display.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
