1880s Sawtooth Star Quilt

$240.00
sold out

This sweet quilt has calicos dating back to the mid 1800s which accounts for the wear that some of the piecework has— Due to the type of mordant used in the dye process during this period, which didn’t allow for many fabrics to withstand the test of time.
Despite that, this quilt is still very usable and displays beautifully and is also in a rare larger size.

D E T A I L S

How it’s made: hand quilted and hand pieced

Weight: light

Measurements laid flat: 76” x 93”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

C O N D I T I O N
Exposed batting on almost all star blocks but no holes that we noticed that went all the way through. Fading around all edges of the quilt and two or three spots of discoloration on the front and back.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
