1880s Log Cabin Quilt Topper

$410.00
sold out

This topper was never finished into a quilt, but holy smokes it is so incredibly striking and absolutely deserving to be hung on the wall as the art piece that it is. Or hung in a doorway perhaps? You decide. It could even be on a not often used guest bed.
Beautiful wool and silk fabric throughout as well as some 1860s calicos.

How it’s made: hand pieced

Weight: very light weight

Measurements laid flat: 66” x 82”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

This is fairly fragile and is best used for display vs. every day use. Several holes that go all the way through. Fading to some of the piecing and fabric wear to a decent amount of the piecing as well. There are also some piecing seams coming undone. Fraying to some areas of the edge binding and very faint spots of discoloration here and there.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
