1880s Barn Raising Log Cabin Quilt

$950.00
sold out

One of the most stunning log cabin quilts we have had to date.
The contrast of light and dark fabrics on this quilt becomes almost textural. The red centers of each block stand out and make a statement against the more subtle neutral and cooler tones of this piece and interestingly also represent the hearth in the home.
The original maker of this quilt has done an incredible job at creating a striking heirloom.

How it’s made: hand pieced and hand quilted

Weight: medium

Measurements laid flat: 79” x 80”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

C O N D I T I O N
Wear to fabric piecing on the front in forms of fraying and tears, mostly due to specific fabrics dye processes. Slight wear to edge binding. The back has more wear than the front. Larger tears to backing fabric and exposed batting. These spots of wear can be easily mended if you choose. One or two small bleach spots on the back as well.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
