1870s Pineapple Log Cabin Quilt

$558.00
sold out

The top of this quilt dates to 1870s, but it was likely finished sometime in the 20th Century.
It is an especially captivating representation of this pattern, at a larger scale than is typically found in this piecework which lends it to make an extra powerful statement when hung on a wall. There is a thin cotton batting and a brown solid reverse. The bright blue print wool challis, and light brown chambray fabric really compliment one another in this gorgeous heirloom.

Please note that this quilt has had a sleeve added along one side on the back for hanging by the previous owner. Small wear in brown fabric consistent throughout quilt, with a few discoloration spots and tiny pinholes. In overall magnificent shape for its age and presents beautifully.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
