1870s Ocean Waves Quilt
One of our favorite patterns. The lovely terra cotta, rust and rose tones of calicos will make a wonderful, warm addition to your home.
D E T A I L S
How it’s made: hand pieced and hand quilted
Weight: light to medium
Measurements laid flat: 74” x 92”
Shown on a standard Full size bed.
C O N D I T I O N
The teeny tiny pin points of the centers of the calico flowers have worn away due to the dye that was used. Similar wear to some of the calico patchwork due to the dye that was used. No holes all the way through. Some slight discoloration due to age of the white cotton that has since muted to a warmer off-white tone.
The pink calico binding has wear as well but this quilt is in overall very lovely useable condition!
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project my friends. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.
