1840s Silk Medallion Quilt
THIS quilt. A true showstopper. With many Diamond In A Square and Star blocks throughout— this quilt is a work of art and a true collectors piece.
Made up of an amazing glazed walnut backing unlike anything we have ever seen. Lovely feather quilting along borders. The hand quilting is superb, with quilting around the piecework, and other designs in the background, at an even 8-10 stitches to the inch.

Binding and other silk pieces have deteriorated and it has wear throughout and water stains on back. A very delicate and fragile piece best used for display or study only.
Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.
