1830s Chintz Sawtooth Quilt

$525.00
sold out

Some of the earliest fabrics we have had the privilege of having pass through our hands.
The delicate and intricate quilting on this quilt is absolutely mind blowing and a treasure in and of itself to any collection.
A truly lovely piece that is in extremely delicate condition. The extravagant chintz fabric borders have seen better days and as such this quilt would be best suited as a piece of art that lives on your wall.

How it’s made: hand quilted and machine pieced

Weight: light

Measurements laid flat: 82” x 96”

Shown on a standard Full size bed.

Very delicate condition. We strongly recommend this piece is only used as display as further daily use would only contribute and hasten the aging process. The walnut chintz fabric at the border is brittle to the touch and there is discoloration throughout the body of the quilt but all things considered— This quilt is in incredible condition in light of the fact that it is almost 200 years old!
Outfitted with curtain rod sleeves on two sides for easy display hanging.

Most importantly: Please do not cut this quilt for a coat or other project. It is too beautiful and in gorgeous condition and a work of art in and of itself. It would be tragic to cut up such a beautiful piece of textile history.

⋒ This is an antique piece, all photos have been taken in natural light and with limited editing to reflect its condition. Please keep in mind all antique pieces have little imperfections and reflect the story and charm of the piece.

⋒ This find will ship to you within one week of purchasing. International and combined shipping is available, please contact us via instagram DM at @Folkling for a personalized shipping quote.
