Mending Monday: For The Love & Usefulness of Clothespins

A short story with a Mending Monday theme: We recently listed a few antique clothespins in our web shop, but before doing so, we found among the collection a handful that were wrapped with wire…

Very curious.

We pondered the reason for a few moments before it dawned on us that these select few had weaknesses, or cracks in the wood, that were threatening to split the clothespin.

The wire was wrapped around simply to reinforce the clothespin and prolong its life and usefulness.

A simple action that speaks volumes.

We could all use a little more waste-not-want-not in our lives— Choose to mend something today vs. throwing it out.
