A House For Folkling
We bought a house—For Folkling!
It has long been our dream to make Folkling more of an *experience*.
A shoppable space that integrates an in-process studio, a museum, a space that embodies our everyday lifestyle.
For some time now, we have realized that our long-time vision was not achievable in a traditional retail space and that we had outgrown 107 S Main, but the next home for Folkling had’t revealed itself yet.
Until…
A beautiful 1870s home in the heart of historic downtown Gordonsville was looking for its next caretakers.
Run as an inn by the previous owners, who lovingly restored the home from its former duplex-doom, this 1870s house was the beautiful blank canvas we’d been waiting for.
After looking at many other small towns, casting our net far and wide, trying to figure out when and where the possible next right chapter could unfold, it seems it was just a few blocks down from where we started.
And so, we decided to stay.
In Gordonsville.
——————————————————
To be clear— This is not our home.
We do not live here.
——————————————————
This is a space purely for Folkling, and for the dreams that will unfold here as a result.
Specifying that feels important to help with the translation of this vision.
Our goal is to embark on a journey of perception stretching.
To slow down.
To embrace the contour of life.
To remind you, that things are not always as they appear.
That thinking outside of the box can be the rule instead of the exception to it.
That the invitation to experience the magic of the everyday is often closer than it seems.
There’s going to be a lot of that in this new chapter.
So what’s next?
Well, we have a lot of work to do before this space will be ready to open its door.
We don’t have a projected timeline as of yet, but, as always, you can follow the story on Instagram, as well as on the journal, where we hope to post more frequently in the coming months.
In the meantime, thank you for continuing to be here and witness the unfolding of this story along with us.
